Attackers to hit or slap the ball to each other. Defenders to intercept the passes made by the opposition.
Passes to be accurate and appropriatly paced for the distance. Defender to get a low body position when intercepting the ball with flat stick - left hand on the floor on reverse stick intercept. Decision making by all players is important. Defender to commit to the intercept and dive if needs be. Strong wrists required to retain the intercept. Progression: Defender to start in the middle channel, so running to intercept pass rather than standing in the passing channel.
