Community | Defending and moving down the court

Player, England

DESCRIPTION

The defending team (whites) split themselves up in each third as shown left. The attacking team (blacks) line up on either side of the post with a partner The attackers must pass the ball between them in their pairs to get past the defenders and up the court so they can shoot. Each defender is only allowed in the third they are in e.g. the GS and GA can't leave the goal third when defending. There must be at least 3 passes made in each third and the defenders can mark the shot. If a defender knocks the ball out of court, you take a throw in as normal, if they intercept and catch the ball then the ball is given back to the attackers and they rejoin the queue, filling the gap to give the 7th player a partner. Once one pair has reached the end and scored, they rejoin the queue. When the pair are on their way back to the queue, the next pair goes. Run the drill through as many times as you need, ensuring you switch the defending and attacking teams.
