DESCRIPTION

Players run across the square to catch the ball and pass down the outside of the square.

Use cones to start with but once the players understand its better not to use cones.

COACHING POINTS

Players should run in anticipation not wait for the player to be ready to pass the ball.

Complete the square | Passing

Complete the square:

Working in a square in groups of 3 (with one corner left empty).

Player 2 sprints to the spare corner as player 1 starts to play the pass.

Upon receiving the ball blue 2 turns to throw the ball to the now empty corner which blue 3 sprints towards, ready to receive the pass.

Time your run - pass and move | Movement

Time your run - pass and move:

  1. The Player with the ball passes to player in space on the left.
  2. The player receiving the ball jumps into the air, prior to pass and turns in the air to receive ball, finishing up facing backwards to return ball to player in the same queue.
  3. This player then passes diagonally to the right.

Clock Face | Passing

Clock Face:

  • In pairs one ball each group.

    • On the command of the feeder,ie. 3 o clock, worker moves out to that time and receives the ball that is released on the command.

    Change of direction | Movement

    Change of direction:

    The queueing players must sprint and change direction before receiving the ball from the feeder.

    Once they've received the pass the ball is then passed onto the receiver (red 2) who passes back to the feeder.
