DESCRIPTION

  • Player works with the resistance band
  • Player slightly bends knees, keeping upper body straight and holding the resistance band at shoulder level
  • Player performs pulling action making sure that upper back muscles make all the work necessary for this action

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, the player works on strengthening upper back
  • Maintaining a proper posture in tennis improves balance and also allows for dynamic movements
  • It is extremely important for the player to control their own body while performing volleys at the net so the player should incorporate little drills like this to their warm up routine to prepare for what is ahead in training session or a competitive match
