Excellent drills, very detailed videos. Useful site for my U15 boys team.
2 Indoor Hockey situations%3A 1.)Could Sportsplan have Russel lay out how to defend a free hit/push into your circle from the left, center and right? More importantly show how the team moves/shifts when a pass is made from that area of the court to another in this situation. 2.) How to play against a 1/2 court system defense. What should the team be looking to do to find space and be successful.

Alot of my development players have hinted that they are scared when going for a ball at goal with a keeper present, is there anyone who can advise of a way to build confidence in this area? Thank you Jacqui
With the new own goal rule it's getting very critical to defend the player who is carrying the ball. The team that I coach had a major problem on this area last season.I've already told them what they sould do in order to make it difficult for the ball carrier to scan for a pass or hit the ball inside our defending circle,or at least make him to drible instead of making a dangerous pass. But,they are not used to doing it and we have conceived a lot of goals that way.We have the same problem at defending a free hit inside our 25 yards, when the attacker dribles with the ball for the neccessary 5 meters and then smashes it into our circle.I am trying to think of a way or an excersise that will make them do it,but I haven't found one.Any ideas for both ways could be very helpful.
I am looking for a more complicated drill but for around 4 players. Needs to involve hitting in the circle and shooting on goal. Maybe looking for shooting under pressure like a defender or something?
Dear colleagues, I am coaching a 1st women team (Argentina) and the system that is working for us very well is 3-1-3-3. Given the quality players we've got in the midfield and attack we try to emphasize our offensive game all the time. The problem I am struggling to resolve is that the forwards do not get involved in chances to score inside the circle very often. The few chances the forwards have they are able to score but it is our midfielders who most of the time get to the circle in possession with the ball. I would like to see a quick transfer of the ball from the midfielders to the forwards who need to be in touch with the ball more often during the game and have the midfielders supporting the attack rather than being the leaders of the attack. Is there any drill or way to improve this aspect of the game? Thanks for your time. Martin
...where it will list and describe playing terminology such as shave, tackle-back, steal, forehand.
could someone comment on the 5 yard rule when entering the scoring area? There always seams to be a lot of wrong information regarding this rule.
Hi allI'm running a session on friday night (21 April 2017) and was hoping to move beyond stuff like deflection goals only, to compensate for not having any goalkeepers.Session theme is unfortunately on goalscoring too.Any tips/suggestions?I have some rebound nets (crazy catch), which might actually work brilliantly to simulate saves but any other ideas would be welcomed.Regards,Gary
Baseline defence: How to prevent teams from Scoring goals from the left and Right baseline.Do I tell my left and Right half to channel player outwards ,protect feet, frontal pressure and allow other defenders to tuck infield.Or do I opt to tell defenders to go man to man inside 23 and then apply frontal pressure ,channel player outwards ,watch angle of engagment. As recently we only conceded through attack on our baseline
