Deflection from the left post

Players set up as shown in the diagram. The ball is pushed out to the stopper at the top of the circle, who then proceeds to stop the ball and roll it into the circle. The striker then looks like they are going to shoot before hitting the ball to the left hand post for the injector to score.

Play the ball in from the top of the circle to be deflected into the goal by the player on the postThen the players run round the cones to go to the back of the other queue.

Far Post Deflection

Objective: Players to be in the correct position when deflecting a ball at the back post. Purpose: Increase the chances of connecting with the ball and therefore scoring a goal. Set-up: A midfield passer will start with the ball and wait for an attacker to make a run on the edge of the D. Attacker will initially run towards the passer to show for the ball, then peel off, aiming their run towards the baseline. At this point, the passer will play the ball into the attackers path and the far post attacker will start their run towards the far post. Attacker with the ball will hit a cross in the direction of the far post. The far post attacker should be in a set position and attempt to deflect the cross into the goal.

Player 1 passes the ball into player 2 in the square.With the first touch try and get the ball out of the square.Outside players stay out but can move anywhere around the outside.Player needs to be the player in the middle getting out

Set up with three players in position. One with the ball, two metres from top D. One at top D, five metres to the right. One outside the far left post a couple of metres in from the baseline. Player 1 passes to player 2, who in one movement takes the ball in front of them before striking the ball on the floor to the far post Player 3 runs towards goal and deflects the ball with the reverse edge of the stick into the goal Follow your pass to the next destination.

The German Set Pieces - Hockey...

Players must set up as shown in the diagram. The ball is pushed out to the stopper at the top of the circle. The striker (Blue 3) picks up the ball and moves left and draws the runner (s) before passing to Blue 4 who has run into a position around the penalty spot. Blue 4 then deflects the ball back towards the striker that has run in a straight line towards the goal. The striker then lifts the ball over the prone goalkeeper.Blue 6 runs into the far post to give another option if the move breaks down.

Setup the defence as shown with defenders on each post and a runner on each post. Player 1 runs to the top of the circle with Player 2 running on their right hand side, but only 3/4 of the way out. Player 2 is their to put pressure on any slip left or pass back to the injector. Players 3 and 4 are responsible for protecting the posts as well as picking up any rebounds off the keeper's pads. Also should be ready to adjust in case the opposition perform a set play

The player on the left passes the ball into the path of the player on the right. When this player receives the ball they continue to run with with it before passing the ball to the player on the far post who then has shot on goal. The player passing to the far post continues to run after their pass and takes up a new position by the right post. The practice can now start again from the other side.

I'm looking for suggestions on set plays for free hits going into the circle. High school rules in the US now state that all players (attack/defense) must be 7 yards from the ball. What plans will work for drawing corners and goal scoring opportunities?

Hi allI'm running a session on friday night (21 April 2017) and was hoping to move beyond stuff like deflection goals only, to compensate for not having any goalkeepers.Session theme is unfortunately on goalscoring too.Any tips/suggestions?I have some rebound nets (crazy catch), which might actually work brilliantly to simulate saves but any other ideas would be welcomed.Regards,Gary
