My U19 boys hockey team is still playing on very uneven bumpy grass fields. What are the best ball stopping technique and drills

I am coaching a JV team and my girls keep sending the ball back to where the ball came from. Are there any good drills that would train them redirect?
I train a school team in India, it is under-16 team. My forwards are good in skills and defenders are good at tackling. But at the last 15 mins of match(35-5-35 mins.), my whole team gets tired and starts making unforced errors. Even skills are as good as other Indian players but when it comes to strength and stamina they lack. Please suggest something that my players are capable fast matches? We play hockey on grass only.
What are the best methods to teach Junior 8 aside hockey players their positional roles and responsibilities?
I am looking for 6 a side hockey formations. We have been playing 3-1-1-1. Worked very well, however sweeper was so good, goalie never touched the ball. I want to move sweeper to goalie/ sweeper but our mid field player is too good to just play right. What to do? 2-2-1-1 or 1-3-1-1?
How do you encourage positional play and spreading out on hockey field U9 girls level?
Hi again Sportplan. I have recently been appointed the provincial head coach for the province i live in in Zimbabwe. I have been a selector for the u13 girls provincial side for three years prior to this. This is the first time i will be working with girls that i have not had the opportunity to build a raport with. My question (s) are as follows%3A 1)The Interprovincial Tournament is to be held on sand and astra turf fields this year. My girls will be at a destinct disadvantage living in the country we only play on grass fields. What would be the best way to prepare them for the fast, more predictable nature of turf play? 2)What would be the best way to gel the team quickly as it is made up of girls from many different schools? We only have two practise sessions available as a team before the tournament? Thanks, i hope you can give me a few more ideas to work with. Jason Zimbabwe
Why wont this session open for me when i log in its not there ??
Have a team of older group of ladies who need to learn to pass the ball back, any good drills for this?
Can someone give me advice on the best was to teach ladies 3d skills while entering the D? I am open to any suggestions. I have tried to get them lifting the ball over sticks but it doesn't seem to transfer to matches.
Hi,I need to play 4 linked hockey sessions to a specific theme I don't know which one to chose such as I can't say attack because there can be so much to cover . So any help?
How can you train to break through a team that starts half court and your team starts with the ball? Four players in the defence start maybe playing the ball first to the left wing and this player hits the ball back to the free defence player who passes the ball to the right defence player who is over the 23 meter line... I like to understand the different tactical approaches. Can you share some ideas with me?
What kind of defensive presses do you all run for highshoolers? And is there a resource that will make it easier to teach to them? We play a 4-4-3 with 2 sitters in the midline. Iâm used to a Fall Away Press, but am having a hard time teaching it. Asked using Sportplan Mobile App
I'm in the U.S., coaching a team of 11-12 year olds, with 1-2 years of experience. Defending the circle, when the ball is loose, my players are not getting control of the ball to hit out of the circle. It's congested with opponent and my team's players. If my players get control, they lose it quickly. If the opponent has control, my players aren't very good at taking the ball or stopping the opponent from taking a shot. Luckily we have a good goalie but she can only do so much. (Full disclosure: I didn't play FH but have a decent understanding of the game. No one else in my community would step up to coach so it's fallen to me.)
