Pre match pass and follow

1 passes to 2.2 passes to 3.3 passes to 1, who then shoots.Player 2 then moves to player 1 position, player 3 moves to 2 and player 1 goes to the back of the queue.The next ball is then passed.

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 and then follows his/her own pass. Player 2 then passes the ball back to player 1 for a wall pass into the space, for player 2 to run onto the ball and have a shot at goal.

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2. Player 2 turns away from the cone, and passes the ball into space for player 3 to run onto. Player 3 now passes the ball to player 1, who has made a run around the outside of player 2. Player 1 takes the ball into the circle and shoots.

The player in the middle passes the ball to the outside player and then runs through the centre to the other side of the cones, looking to receive the ball back. Once they've received the return pass they then do the same thing on the way back on the other side.

First player runs towards the channel of cones. Next player in the line passes the ball to the running player inside the channel.<br />The player should try and receive the ball while on the move and take the ball to the left or right of cones, then slalom to the end before shooting.

A good warm-up before the game is to start with some players with balls outside the 23m area. Put some other players 5-10m apart 3 down each side. A player starts the pass and follow chain with the last player to receive the ball having a shot, and returning to the start.

This exercise is to teach players to run out and receive the ball and set up an attack down the right or left.<BR>Important that the pass should be given before the player running out arrives in the space. Pass and follow sequence RD-RW-CF-RD.

5 cones, 5 players, 1 ball and few spares to the side. Players can pass anywhere as long as it at it isn't straight on. Player with ball makes first pass, and follows their pass. Player in the center cannot turn to pass straight on. Player with ball must always have 3 options to pass, if a cone is empty, players who is out of the game must make the supporting run.

When player 2 receives the ball, player 3 creates a space behind them, for player 2 to pass the ball in for player 4 to run onto and receive. Player 4 can then cross the ball to the player 5 who has a shot at goal. <br>Every player then rotates to the next position.

Play alternates from going up the left, to going up the right. The player waiting in the queue passes out to the wing, where the ball is passed up the wing, before being shot at goal. The player who took the shot then joins the back of the queue. All the other players involved, then move to where they passed to.

One of the four defenders in the circle passes the ball from inside the circle to the 4 forwards on the half way line. As the moment of the pass two defenders have to run around one of the cones on the 23m line before they can defend, the other two defenders can defend straight away.

A simple pass and follow is to put out some cones at random on the pitch. Have a player without a ball by each cone and the rest of the players at the start with a ball. A player passes the ball and follows it to the first cone where that pass went. The player waiting at the first cone receives the ball, passes it to the 2nd cone and so on. The player by the last cone, on receiving a ball has to run with the ball, to the queue at the start.

This is a pass and follow exercise with 3 different elements that helps players with fast passing - particularly important when trying to score in the opposition's circle. Player 1 starts to run with the ball and  passes to the player on their left before reaching the 2 cones they are running towards. The player receiving the ball has to first time sweep the ball to the next player clockwise from them. This player receives the ball and restarts the practice, still going clockwise around the square. Every player should follow their own pass to the back of the next line of players

3 Players with one ball between them. To start just play a simple pass and then follow the ball to the back of the queue. As your players become more confident start getting your players to think about moving up the pitch with the ball. To do this spread the groups further apart and get the passing player to run a few steps with the ball before passing in front of the receiving player who moves out to meet the pass and then also takes a few steps before passing the ball.
