Excellent drills, very detailed videos. Useful site for my U15 boys team.
I am looking for a a training plan, using games to develop the tactical and technical points of shooting from the top of the D. Any pointers please.
My school has extremely limited access to an astro. I am looking for suggestions for drills etc assuming that they have 1,5 hours twice a week available on 1/4 Astro. The kids vary from U14s to U18s split into different skill levels at each age group. The two practices should cover skills as well as tactical plays.
Would anybody like to give me a diagram of 3/4 press and half court please ?
They are very crowed and play a lot in the middle they are ball watching> They are playing in each others positions
Hi all,I've got my level 2 assessment coming up on Sunday and I just wanted to quickly check whether there's a 'recommended' structure to the session plan.Btw, this is a level 2 practical assessment and is with juniors (U14s).One coach has suggested a 3 part approach:1) techniques and skills required2) unopposed 3) opposedThe theme I'm choosing, which is a bit of a generic one, is defending in a channel (as I'm a defender and it's pretty straight forward).I'm not really looking for info on what exactly to include (i.e. theme specific) but rather general structure or whether E.H. have an approved structure to sessions? My session's on Sunday, so a quick reply would be awesome. Thanks,Gary
Have a team of older group of ladies who need to learn to pass the ball back, any good drills for this?
My team will be joining a 6 a side (6's) hockey tournament next week. Can you share with me some tactical setup, attacking and defensive, for this 6's format? A few information that would be beneficial for your consideration.6's played on full hockey pitch (astroturf 91.5m55m) 15 minutes game time (no halftime) a goalkeeper needed, cannot be a lastman I would like to thank you in advance.
How can you train to break through a team that starts half court and your team starts with the ball? Four players in the defence start maybe playing the ball first to the left wing and this player hits the ball back to the free defence player who passes the ball to the right defence player who is over the 23 meter line... I like to understand the different tactical approaches. Can you share some ideas with me?
Hello, I am working with my hockey coach of younger age groups in Turkey. can you help with training planning and technical tactical work
Does anyone have a practice plan template they are willing to share? Something that includes space to fill in the chose drills/exercises to work on each of the different facets of practice (conditioning, agilities, ball warmup, technical work, tactical work, etc.)?
2 Indoor Hockey situations%3A 1.)Could Sportsplan have Russel lay out how to defend a free hit/push into your circle from the left, center and right? More importantly show how the team moves/shifts when a pass is made from that area of the court to another in this situation. 2.) How to play against a 1/2 court system defense. What should the team be looking to do to find space and be successful.
Baseline defence: How to prevent teams from Scoring goals from the left and Right baseline.Do I tell my left and Right half to channel player outwards ,protect feet, frontal pressure and allow other defenders to tuck infield.Or do I opt to tell defenders to go man to man inside 23 and then apply frontal pressure ,channel player outwards ,watch angle of engagment. As recently we only conceded through attack on our baseline
I am looking for 6 a side hockey formations. We have been playing 3-1-1-1. Worked very well, however sweeper was so good, goalie never touched the ball. I want to move sweeper to goalie/ sweeper but our mid field player is too good to just play right. What to do? 2-2-1-1 or 1-3-1-1?
Hi can you help me setting a defence against a team playing 2 centre halves. My team plays conventional style 5321 . Thanks
The two 'lessons' on formation, don't expand. they don't actually go into what the roles and responsibilities are. Also, a while ago Im sure that there was something on differnt types of 'press', FULL and HALF COURT....? Cant find them on the web site....Also don't quite understand being a paying member and the 'free' aspect of thge website, what do I get by paying, I am slightly confused.I do like the website, but it doesnt appear to be as good as it eas last season?Hope you can help me,Regards,Alistair
Hi Im new to coaching hockey want to know what position do I play some of my weaker players without them losing interest and there confidence.
How do you encourage positional play and spreading out on hockey field U9 girls level?
My girl's team is playing a 9 a side full field tournament. I'm thinking of a 3-4-1-keeper. I think the keeper neesd to stand high on the D and act as a sweeper. What are your thoughts?
How should a women team, that cannot use the scoup or an overhead,do when the oposit uses a full press at a 16yd hit??Thank you...
