How do you encourage positional play and spreading out on hockey field U9 girls level?
I have a team of 14 year old girls who mostly want to run with the ball rather than pass. A lot of them are strong ball carriers and so often achieve success this way but am concerned that this strategy will not work once the other teams get bigger and stronger, and that it is too one dimensional. What are the best ways to change this approach?
I need a good drill to help the girls move to the ball faster? we arw slow to the ball need a drill thanks

I coach a women's team wide range in age 16 - 54 , when the stars align we are a very strong team hard to beat and very stingy when it comes to goals against, the games we do lose are usually 1-0 games,The exception comes when we play a team that plays a 1-4-4-2 ,what makes it worse is that we play a 4-4-2 and are very successful with it, but when it comes to defending against it my Defense and Mids become confused. I have not had any luck in figuring out a way to explain to my team how to defend against it. Any ideas on an easy way to fix this? Thanks
we have started using the 3-3-3-1 formation and wanted some drills to reinforce this formation
Have a team of older group of ladies who need to learn to pass the ball back, any good drills for this?
Hello sirplease brief me 2 versus 1 depth situation with drills
Hi,I coach a university team that has a group of mixed abilities, ranging good players with some previous hockey experience to some who are starting from the basics. We've managed to polish on basics and now the team is able to play together. They move the ball well around the pitch using the wider areas, good defence and tackles, but the big problem is creating scoring opportunities. Without goals we can't win matches... The best is draws which we get most times. I was wondering if anyone could share a small sided game or drill that could help create the attack mindset so my team can have that hunger for goas and go for it.
I am just starting to get into the Hockey5s coaching space and was wondering if there is a general thought around the adptability of the 'indoor' drills and concepts as the basis of a 5s training session?
