Best carried out as a 4v4 or 5v5 game with a goalkeeper.
The objective is to collect a ball from station 1, 2, or 3 and try to create enough space inside the 18 yard box to score for your team. If the ball leaves the box, a new ball is passed in.
To determine where the ball is coming from, the coach at station 2 will shout 1, 2, or 3 and on that shout, the ball will be played in from that station.
Note: If you coach on your own, feel free to either use injured/ not involved players at the other stations, or just stand at station 2 and pass the ball into the corners of the box from there - still using the shouts of 1, 2, and 3.
Be on toes and constantly scan around; you won't have much times so you need to be aware.
Use the whole box. It might seem confined but players will always be drawn toward the ball, opening space elsewhere.
Quick passing and rapid movement is key to opening up space.
Use body feints and skills to sidestep defenders and have a shot at goal.
Shoot often - you are in a confined area close to the goal so have a pop when you get the chance.
Beware when crossing - you have just as much chance of meeting the other team with a cross as your own.
When defending, be sharp, look big and jockey well to close space.
Always be aware of where the goal is when defending; you don't want to get caught out when an attacker shoots and you get the blame for not blocking the goal behind you.
Force the other team out to the edges of the box using tight marking and pressure.
