Hi! If I were to coach step-over skills (Ronaldo style) to 4 and 5 years players, what warm ups should I start off with? Suppose those players have no or little balance/co-ordination? Step-over is an exciting skill to learn and would do wonder to a player's confidence.
Any advice?
Paul
Every time my get the ball they will always kick it long and give straight to the time where as they need to gert it and pass. Can any one help?
Team keep getting thrashed every week - where to start? Having been the sole coach/manager of a little league team for the past two years, this year I lost all my senior players. I was therefore presented with 10 brand new lads, some of whom have never played competitive football. We are 8 games in and my lads are getting thrashed every week. The main problems are that they cannot get the ball out of their half, positions are usually a mess, finishing and chance creation are non-existent, and they don't apply any pressure or are unable to tackle. The main problems are keeping the ball as a team, getting it in the opponents half and staying there, and creating/finishing chances. I only have 1 and a half hours a week with them. I don't really know what to do, and I'm a little desperate. Does anybody have any advice? Thanks for literally anything.
Im about to coach a mixed ability mixed aged group (8-12) for a one week session, can you recommend ay fun drills that will help with confidence, team building and game play? Thanks
How to bring back confidence to my boys?
Our under 12's have made the jump from 9 a side to 11 a side. We have entered a big city league were results are hard to come by. We play a super 1st half and lose it massively 2nd half, through heads down & fitness. Any suggestions on confidence boosting & training drills to help steady a ship. We are playing a 4 - 2 -3 - 1 formation.Yes we are getting a bit of negativity from the parents to, which does not help. Thank you in advance.
U11's. I want to practice heading but not with a normal match ball. Is there a light weight alternative I could use. Don't really want to use flyaways I am hoping they is something similar with a bit more weight. CheersRob Asked using Sportplan on Mobile
I run a U11 team that is reasonably successful and plays with confidence and spends a lot of the time on the front foot. However we seem to get caught week after week by the simple long ball over the top and would welcome some tips/drills to help the lads improve this part (it's driving me mad!). Thanks in advance.
At home he is very good at everything but he doesn't get involved as much when matches are on. Is there any way of coaxing him to shoot and do what he does at home?

Hi, I am a long time player, first time coach. I am going to be coaching 13-15YO girls who are very enthusiastic and most of the team have good skills already. We are about to start our 2 months of pre-season training and we are still looking for more players to join the team. There will be a small number of beginners in the group. During the open training session we held, I found they got bored very easily. How can I structure our first few sessions to ensure;1. They want to come back 2. They have fun and get to know each other 3. They feel like I am going to be a good coach that will help them develop their skills. I want to make sure they believe in me as a coach while I get the hang of actually coaching. Very overwhelmed at the moment.
hi my named jamie i am currently going through the process of stepping into my first coaching roll with an under 12s boys team. i have no experience in coaching i will be joining the team alongside 2 other experienced coaches i am very excited about this opportunity i have been given also want be a great addition to the team and be the best coach i can. any tips on how to first settle in and also how to get the boys i will be coaching to believe im good enough to develop them or any other tips in general you may think will come in handy on my coaching journey. thank you
what drills would I do to improve my ball control
hi Guys, i have a question about 5-6 year olds getting ready for next year when they start playing their football matches against other teams. i will use my son as an example,so i can use as a guide for some other parents in the team. average training is ball mastery and a trafficlight game and then into matches for the last half of the session. my sons ball mastery is as good as youd expect for a 5 year old and that always improves with repitition. my difficulty lies when we go into the matches. theres a lack of 'competitiveness' or confidence with my boy, compared to some of the other boys, skills-wise theyre on the same level, but the more confident boys will shine thru and theyre not nessesarily better, he has flashes in games where he will do good, drive with the ball, he is always involved, but im not sure if its confidence or maybe just not as good in the match situations. is there any advice that can be offered in terms of practice that we could work on at home?
